international flights?

I am flying out of san francisco airport on the 28th, three days after christmas.. how crazy do you think the airport will be (I've never traveled at xmas before) how early should I get there?? since I didn't specify, I'm flying from SF to Amsterdam, then from Amsterdam to London...any tips would be great!

1. Well..at this time of the year it should be pretty wild, if youve seen Die Hard 2 or any other movies that take place in the airport around this time.. Well, you should always get there 2 hrs before the plane leaves at least..so maybe aim at 3-4+.. maybe im exaggerating though..
2. It will be major crazy especially this month all I can say is if you're traveling with more than 1 person STAY IN A GROUP because you can get separated! Since it will be busy have everything you need at hand when you check in the plane. ' Have a safe flight! =)
3. Last year I've flown from SFO many times between Dec 26 & January 18 both international and domestic,on United and Air New Zealand. I had no trouble getting through customs etc, and the security line was fairly long but moved pretty quickly. Where the problem lies is the check-in lines. I got to SFO three hours for an international flight and the queue had already snaked for several rows. This line took over half an hour to get through, but SFO is so organised that the security process is done quickly and efficiently, much better than my experiences at LAX. So if you get to the airport 3-3.5 hours before flight departure that should get you there with plenty of time just in case anything happens.
